Chiropractic Care and Pregnancy

Chiropractic Care & Pregnancy

The joys of pregnancy sometimes bring aches and pains.  Typically  women know extra weight seems to hang out on the hips and legs, but during pregnancy we  carry extra weight in the front and wow can we feel it in the back, lower back in particular.

Chiropractic care benefits the entire body and at no time is it more beneficial then with pregnancy.  Misalignments in the spine can cause muscles and ligaments in the surrounding structures to become out of balance and painful.

I am certified in the Webster Technique and will use the Webster protocol to correct misalignments.  The Webster technique is a specific chiropractic sacral analysis and diversified adjustment with the goal of reducing the effects of sacral subluxation and SI joint dysfunction.  This adjustment improves the neuro-biomechanical function in the pelvis.

Chiropractic care during pregnancy can help manage pain in your neck, back and hips all while providing your baby with as much space as possible.  Proper alignment of the hips and pelvis will help the baby be in the best possible position  at time of delivery and even reduce the time of labor.

Don’t forget to get adjust after delivery and your baby adjusted too!  Watch for my follow up on babies and chiropractic care.
